1. Different in nature
Oriented silicon steel, also known as cold-rolled transformer steel, is an important ferrosilicon alloy used in the transformer (iron core) manufacturing industry. Non-oriented silicon steel is a ferrosilicon alloy with very low carbon content, and its grains are randomly distributed in the steel plate after deformation and annealing.
2. Different characteristics
The magnetism of grain-oriented silicon steel has strong directionality, the iron loss value is the lowest in the rolling direction, the magnetic permeability is the highest, and it has a high magnetic induction value under a certain magnetization field. The silicon content of grain-oriented silicon steel is about 3%, and the content of oxide inclusions in the steel is required to be low, and it must contain some kind of inhibitor (MnS, A1N ).
Non-oriented silicon steel is a ferrosilicon alloy containing 0.8%-4.8% silicon, which is hot-rolled and cold-rolled into a silicon steel sheet with a thickness of less than 1mm. Adding silicon can increase the resistivity and maximum permeability of iron, and reduce the coercive force, core loss (iron loss) and magnetic aging.
3. The production process is different
Oriented silicon steel is smelted in an oxygen converter, and the billet is rolled into finished product thickness through hot rolling, normalization, cold rolling, intermediate annealing and secondary cold rolling, then decarburization annealing and high temperature annealing, and finally coated with an insulating layer. Pre-desulfurization of molten iron, secondary desulfurization by adding Ca0+CaF: flux or rare earth elements and calcium during converter blowing. The boiling molten steel is decarburized by vacuum treatment and then further desulfurized. Ferrosilicon with low titanium and zirconium content is selected for alloying.
